RESUME Of
Kenneth Bagnasco
MISSION STATEMENT
To provide outstanding service to all Knights of Columbus members and their families under my care and making sure that I am there for them when they need me.
EMPLOYMENT
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS 12/07 – PRESENT
Field Agent, Southwest Virginia – Responsible for fulfilling Father McGivney’s original desire of caring for the Widows and Orphans of the Knights of Columbus members which has grown to be the largest Catholic lay organization in the world, providing not only over $135 million and 60 million man-hours to charitable causes each year, but also is one of the highest rated and most respected life insurance companies in the country.
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION 10/84 – 10/07
Air Traffic Control Specialist – Responsible for the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic in both the tower and radar environment of the National Airspace System. My duties included the sequencing, spacing, and separation of aircraft at the various facilities I was assigned to during my career.
Temporary Supervisor Air Traffic Controller – From October, 1995 to January, 1996 I was responsible for supervising the operation of a Level 3 Tracon to include training, submitting Time and Attendance Reports, and handling leave requests. During that time the facility was involved in a major construction project removing asbestos in and around the Tracon, the resurfacing of all runways and taxiways, and we experienced a major radar outage that lasted two months resulting in a media frenzy. It was necessary for me on a daily basis to coordinate work with construction companies, both in the building and on the airport; to coordinate airspace changes with adjacent facilities due to our being non-radar; handling the many user complaints; and forwarding calls from the media.
Letters of Appreciation:
Jun 24, 2003 for my performance during a complete radar power outage.
May 26, 2002 for expediting the presidential movement of President Bush.
Mar 26, 1996 for my efforts in achieving a high facility evaluation rating.
June 13, 1995 for working extremely heavy traffic during a special event.
Sep 27, 1991 for working a radar position during an emergency power failure.
Sep 06, 1989 for my effort in working during a Navy Blue Angel airshow.
Jun 21, 1989 for working a position during a major NY Center power failure.
UNITED STATES NAVY 02/79 – 02/84
U.S.S. John F. Kennedy, Aircraft Carrier, Norfolk Naval Base, VA 23455
Air Traffic Control Specialist – Certified at all radar positions in the Carrier Air Traffic Control Center for various tours at sea which included a ten-month deployment where the carrier was involved in the conflict off Beirut, Lebanon.
Fire Watch Supervisor – Became a Fire Watch Supervisor when the carrier was temporarily in dry dock for a major overhaul. I was asked to develop and oversea a system of plans and procedures designed to track four hundred junior enlisted men acting as fire watches accompanying the Navy Shipyard welders working throughout the ship. During this period because of my effort and the system I created, the carrier became the first ship in naval history to have a major overhaul without a single fire. I received the prestigious Navy Achievement Medal from Secretary of the Navy, John Lehman. The system I designed was submitted to the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. and was adopted at all shipyards throughout the country.
Norfolk Naval Air Station, Norfolk, VA 23455
Air Traffic Control Specialist – Became a journeyman air traffic controller at the Naval Air Station after certifying at all tower and radar approach control positions including a temporary assignment at the Air Station Heliport. My duties included the safe, orderly, and expeditious handling of military aircraft requiring a high security clearance.
Military Decorations: Navy Achievement Medal; Navy Expeditionary Medal for service off Beirut, Lebanon during the 1982 conflict; Meritorious Unit Commendation for 1980 Iran Conflict; Good Conduct Award; Sea Service Ribbon.
